This snare drum is part of the limited offering this year, but it is very special. As i develop more wood blends, and finish combos, i am trying to bring back finishes to be more organic. As cheesy as it sounds, it only makes sense. Using trees and alloys that come from the earth: it only seems right that we incorporate some cool ways to finish our drums.

We extracted lavender pigment from lavender leaves, and mixed them with a finishing oil to create the finish you see on the drum. And of course the glass lacquer, that not “sparkle,” it’s crushed glass. The wood came from Siberian, and is blended with walnut plys: a beautiful dark sounding drum.

Specs:

7x13 / Walnut Ply Shell / Siberian Mappa Burl

We have done this “organic finish,” on a different kit, that i will post later this week. [the things we used to get the color is the real kicker] Enjoy!
